Karissa Low

EMP Fellow (she/they)

Karissa is an EMP fellow who is pursuing a master’s degree in clinical social work at the Crown School of Social Work, Policy and Practice, University of Chicago.

Karissa is committed to providing psychotherapy services having benefited personally. Her dedication to her own healing is the foundation for her desire to serve others. She has a strong desire to extend to others the time, energy, and compassion she has experienced in her growth as a person and practitioner in the field.

Karissa has provided support and counseling in several settings including a hotline for survivors of sexual assault, a women’s shelter in Chicago, and for homeless persons living with severe mental illness.
