Emma Clark

LSW, PMH-C (she/her)

Emma Clark is a fellow with Emotion Management Program (EMP) this year and works as an ACT and C-DBT-informed individual and couples therapist at the Perinatal Mental Health Center of Chicago.

While pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Global Women’s Studies at Brigham Young University, Emma decided to enroll in a local birth doula training. The training ignited her passion for perinatal health, medical advocacy, and being present with others during some of life’s most intense and transformative moments. This experience eventually led Emma to pursue a Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.

While at Crown, Emma served as a Brown Fellow in the Graduate Program for Health Administration and Policy, earned her perinatal mental health certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, and completed internships at an elementary school on Chicago’s southside and a perinatal mental health clinic.

Emma was also introduced to third-wave behavioral therapies, including IBT, through her studies at Crown and found these approaches to be deeply impactful, both personally and professionally. She is thrilled to continue deepening her clinical practice and understanding of IBT as a fellow with EMP this year, and looks forward to applying what she learns to the perinatal mental health space.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys reading, going on walks and runs, and being cozy on the couch with her husband and cat.
