The Emotion Management Program, LLC (EMP) provides outpatient services to adults suffering from a wide range of psychological disorders including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. All of our clients receive psychotherapy from a contextual behavior perspective.

Our program successfully treats individuals whose chronic distress significantly limits effective day-to-day functioning and impairs their quality of life. Clients learn how to change their behaviors to cope more effectively with daily stressors and develop a life worth living.

For individuals with more pervasive problems, we specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a highly structured treatment approach that is one of the few empirically validated treatments for persons with Borderline Personality Disorder. DBT is currently being studied in the treatment of several other psychiatric disorders such as substance abuse, eating disorders, major depression, and anxiety disorders.

Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) is an effective treatment for a wide variety of psychological problems including depression and anxiety. ACT emphasizes such processes as mindfulness and acceptance in helping clients live more meaningful lives, using metaphors, experiential exercises, and written assignments to assist them in identifying specific steps they can take now to move toward their chosen goals and values.
